This bushland trail by the beach is full of wildlife, unique plants and interesting stories 🌳

Trigg Bushland Reserve is one of the biggest bushland areas in inner city Perth and one of the last places in Perth you can find natural groves of the Rottnest Island pine.

Along the trail, you can hear birds chirping and waves crashing, and read some interesting stories about the reserve’s history and what lives there.

We were lucky enough to spot Quandongs and orchids on our walk.

Here’s everything you need to know:
🥾 Trigg Bushland Story Trail
Dune Loop: 2.7km (allow around 1 hour)
📍Start at Bournemouth Parade or Peet Crescent, Trigg
🚶🏼‍♂️Unsealed path with some steep inclines
🐕 Dog-friendly with doggy bags and bins at various points on trail
🦅Forest red-tailed cockatoo, brown goshawk and western black striped snake
💮Quandongs, fairy orchids, tuart trees, Rottnest Island pines, grey cottonhead flowers, jarrah, marri and banksia trees, Rottnest tea trees, dodder laurel
☕Near the trail start, take the path underground beneath West Coast Hwy and you’ll be right at Trigg Beach, and the closest coffee spot is Foam near Surfing WA (also dog-friendly)
🌅 It’s extra nice to do the trail at sunrise or sunset as you have amazing views in both directions.

Save this for your next trail adventure in City of Stirling

This Lancia Lambda just turned 101 🚗🎉

Earlier this year, owner Jeremy planned a road trip to Albany via Pemberton to mark the occasion, however unfortunately the Lambda didn't quite make it.

The car began to overheat with steam billowing from the engine, so Jeremy stopped by a waterfall to fill the radiator from the flowing stream to cool it down 🥵

After it overheated once again, he decided it was time to call RAC Roadside Assistance.

Before too long a tow truck arrived from Bunbury to return the Lambda and Jeremy safely back home.

The next morning Jeremy and his copilot set off for Albany in a slightly newer car this time.

Jeremy imported the Lambda brand new to Melbourne, and it was fitted with a Weymann body Type made in Australia, plus 22 inch wheels for the open road.

Thanks for sharing your story and celebrating 100 years of RAC Roadside Assistance with us, Jeremy 💛

Sugarloaf Rock + sunset = elite combo 🌅

Sitting just off the coast in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, this distinctive granite sea stack is one of the most recognisable landmarks along the Margaret River coastline 😍

The rock has been shaped by thousands of years of wind and waves, while the surrounding coastline is made up of rugged granite cliffs, beaches and native bushland.

There’s a short, sealed walk from the car park to the lookout, where you’ll get the best views across the Indian Ocean and a close-up view of Sugarloaf Rock itself.

Visit at sunset and you’ll see why it’s become such a popular spot to spread out a picnic and watch the day wind down.

The Cape to Cape Track passes through the area, with plenty more coastline to discover on foot. You might even spot dolphins in the water along the way 🐬

📍 Sugarloaf Rock, Margaret River region
🚗 Around 3 hours from Perth
🚶 Short sealed walk to the lookout
🥾 Cape to Cape Track nearby
🎟️ Free entry
🚻 Public toilets available
