Dr Natalie Anderson of Animal Free Science Advocacy was due to deliver 'Beyond Animal Testing' at the sadly cancelled Perth Vegan Expo.

We are delighted that the presentation will now be delivered as a webinar on the 11th May instead.

Register to attend now so you don't miss out!

We’re excited to invite supporters to our upcoming webinar, Beyond Animal Testing, presented by Dr Natalie Anderson, AFSA's Regulatory Science Officer.

Join us on Monday 11 May at 7:00 pm to explore why animal testing for human medicines is one of the most solvable forms of animal exploitation — and how human-relevant methods like organoids, organs-on-chips, AI and the virtual human are already changing the future.

A powerful, practical conversation about science, advocacy and how real change can happen.

We were proud to support Stop Live Exports latest campaigns during our virtual session this year. These campaigns have two petitions live in Parliament and they need your help to close them out — and there's still a financial incentive to give.

Stop Live Exports launched the Make It Law: Heat Policy campaign during Cyclone Narelle, joining us for a Facebook Live when the in-person event had to be cancelled. Their community raised $28,000 in matched donations and filed two formal petitions before Parliament.

Matched giving is still open, with approximately $13,000 remaining in the matched cap. Every dollar donated is doubled until that cap is reached.

The ask is simple: legislate a 35°C loading limit for live export animals. The industry's own veterinary handbook labels extreme heat conditions as severe heat stress — and the highest zone as "dead cattle." There is currently no law addressing this.

The Federal petition closes 29 April. The WA petition closes 12 May.

We may have had to cancel the IRL (In Real Life) Event but a selection of our speakers will be coming to you virtually tomorrow in what we have dubbed the ‘Perth Vegan Expo | Cyclone Narelle Virtual Edition’.

Just as the community has banded together to support local businesses impacted by the event, please support our speakers who have put time and energy into preparing their presentations. Some of our speakers were due to travel across from the Eastern States for the event, and some were not just speakers, but exhibitors at the event, all have had their entire weekend upended.

Grab your goodies from our local businesses and settle in.
