In case you missed it... 📺We had a visit from Channel 9 a few days ago as part of National Asbestos Awareness Week.

"A lot of our [mesothelioma] clients are female and a lot of people are much younger. This isn't just something that just happens to people in their 70s, 80s and 90s," says Lizz, our Support Network Coordinator.

Lizz's husband, Colin, died from - the terminal cancer caused by asbestos exposure.

He was 45 years old.

That's a sobering statistic.

And put the risks of into perspective. It's a real problem.

Around 4,000 Australians die from asbestos-related diseases every year.

is a terminal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. It may take 20 - 60 years since exposure before the disease presents.

All from Savana Environmental Australia Pty Ltd, they're taking part to raise awareness of asbestos - a product they deal with every day.

WA has some of the highest incidences of in situ ❌ asbestos ❌ in the world. Many asbestos products are at their end of life and starting to deteriorate which creates increasing dangers...
