Back on Good Friday this year, I lost access to all my social media pages. What followed has been one of the most devastating, challenging and downright crippling experiences in business I’ve had to navigate, in more ways than one.

A psychic told me I’d get everything back in two to three months. Well, here we are, just over 27 weeks later. 194 days, to be exact. And I’m fairly certain I’m the only one who’s been counting.

194 days of not being able to run my business the way I wanted to. 194 days of roadblocks, frustration, uncertainty and wondering what the hell was going on. 194 days of having to find new ways to keep moving when the tools I’d spent years building my business around were suddenly taken out of my hands.

But here’s the thing about me. I’m not particularly good at giving up.

Whoever thought a targeted campaign against me would be enough to make me disappear clearly underestimated the level of stubbornness they were dealing with. I’m determined, occasionally a little unhinged when pushed to my limits, and powered by equal parts spite, caffeine and an unreasonable refusal to lie down quietly.

It’s taken investigative reporters, Ombudsman intervention, government investigations and a few spectacular meltdowns to get here. Not exactly the comeback tour I had in mind, but we work with what we’re given.

And now? I’m still standing, still creating and still making plans. And still very much in the game.

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. And you can throw every obstacle imaginable at a stubborn lady, but all you’ll do is give her a more interesting story to tell.

Speaking of stories, let’s get back to the fun stuff!

We’ve just wrapped up our first mini tour with Dan Hannaford Music, and what a resounding success it was. At a time when tours and shows are being cancelled left, right and centre, we proved there’s still a huge appetite for live music and a room full of people coming together to experience it.

Our final show at Brunswick Picture House was a packed house, and the energy was everything live music should be. A massive thank you to everyone who came along, supported the shows and reminded us why we do this in the first place. If you’re not following Dan on the social platforms, do yourselves a favour.

Stay tuned. There’s more to come. We’re only just getting started.

Onwards. Preferably with fewer bureaucratic adventures and considerably more live music. 💙
