Meet our Elevate Cabaret Artist: Maddy Grant

Maddy is a clown, circus performer, physical theatre maker and producer. She has been making stuff and being an idiot around Brisbane since 2010. Her work is physically loud, slightly furious and very silly. She currently co-poduces Galore! A celebration of the weird and occasionally puts her body on stage

Our school holiday workshops provide community, engagement, fun, play, and exciting challenges for kids in their downtime. As a not-for-profit community circus, we prioritise support, inclusion, and play-led learning in our classes. ⁠

Expressions of interest NOW OPEN

Vulcana is seeking women, trans and non-binary people aged 18+ to join the creation of Cashless & Care-Free — our powerful 2026 end-of-year community performance.

This is your opportunity to be part of a bold, immersive, full-length work that will transform the Vulcana Arts Hub and Colmslie Complex into a world of circus, movement, theatre, storytelling, text and sound.

Together, we’ll explore the invisible labour of care — the care we give, the care we carry, and the care that often goes unseen, unpaid or underpaid. Through a collaborative and directed creative process, participants will share stories, develop new skills, and help bring this poetic and thought-provoking performance to life.

✨ Open to emerging and professional artists, as well as community participants
✨ Up to 22 participants will be selected
✨ Weekly rehearsals from Saturday 4 July, 1.30–4.30pm
✨ Performances begin Friday 20 November

No matter your experience level, if you are curious, creative and ready to explore, we would love to hear from you.

One of the most delightful moments from The Tipping Point Cabaret ✨🐧⁠

Leila charmed audiences with a playful and thoughtful trapeze performance exploring what it means to try, fail, and try again.⁠

Inspired by the determined spirit of a flightless bird, the piece balanced humour, elegance and a touch of irony as Leila navigated challenges high above the stage. Through graceful aerial artistry and heartfelt storytelling, she reminded us that perseverance isn't about never falling—it's about finding the courage to keep going.⁠
