Blog posts from Oz ORC 2!

Two of our attendees have written up their day at the convention, and both are well worth a read if you’d like a look at what we get up to at Oz ORC.

Elf Maids & Octopi ran three games on the day and wrote up all three:

• Part 1 — Secret Wars II (TSR Marvel):

• Part 2 — Goat Quest:

• Part 3 — Long Stairs:

19-Sided Die came along to their first ever RPG convention and played Mörk Råtta, Goat Quest 2, and a DCC funnel:

Thanks to both of you for coming along, and for taking the time to write about the day!

Congratulations to our Oz ORC 2 raffle winners!

Most of this raffle's prizes came from the collection of the late Michael Reilly, a passionate collector and the creator of the world of Quahnarren. Thank you to Michael's family who has generously donated part of the collection to us so that we could help find good homes for Michael's games. We've kept a few OSR titles for our raffles, which help us continue to run.

The rest of the collection is going to community gaming groups around Adelaide, so Michael's games reach as many people as possible. We have a few groups in mind, but we'd love to hear your suggestions too.

You can learn more about quahnarren here: https://quahnarren.wordpress.com/ and the books can be purchased through drivethrurpg.

A look at some of the tables from Oz ORC 2! Our GMs ran 17 games, from classics like S1: Tomb of Horrors and B1: In Search of the Unknown to newer games like Mothership's Another Bug Hunt and Shadowdark's Trial of the Slime Lord - and even a few creations of their own with Mork Ratta and Goatquest 2. We even had a game of TSR's Marvel Super Heroes!

Thank you to every GM who ran a game, we couldn't do it without your support.

Oz ORC 2 is a wrap! Thank you to everyone who filled the Colonel Light Gardens RSL on Saturday: 56 players, 13 GMs across 17 games of old-school TTRPGs making for a total 120 seats filled!
More photos from the tables coming this week. Fight on!

Wondering what to do with your Saturdays? Why not come along to Oz ORC on September 12th!

We're quickly filling up, but there are still games available like "Bank Robbery" - a scenario for Cowpuncher Reload, a rules-light western, that is fast and deadly.

The town of Steeptrail is under attack by bandits! They are robbing the bank! They have taken hostages! Are you a bad enough Cowboy to take on Quickgun's gang of no-good rustlers? Or maybe your gang is out to steal Steeptrail's riches, too. Ye haw.

Don't miss out, visit https://ozorc.com to find out more and sign up!

🇦🇺 AUSTRALIAN BASED OSR CREATORS 🇦🇺

A massive congratulations to Tim Molloy and the team behind the now ENNIE award winning Painted Wastelands!

There's a lot of great talent in the Australian scene but sometimes it can be hard to find, so we want to know if you are a creator of OSR products or you have a blog (or similar) - drop it in the comments below! We'd love to build a directory to celebrate all the talent and creativity.

Some of our favourites include:
- Tales of Argosa by Pickpocket Press. https://lowfantasygaming.com/
- Mausritter by Losing Games https://losing-games.itch.io/
- The Elfmaids & Octopi Blog https://elfmaidsandoctopi.blogspot.com/
- The d12 monthly zine from YUMDM https://yumdm.com/

So let us know, whose games should we be playing and what blogs should we be reading!

Our convention is running Saturday 12th of September in Adelaide - seats are filling up so visit our website to find out more https://ozorc.com

🎲 FILLING FAST — OZ ORC 2, Saturday 12 September 2026 🎲

Three quarters of our seats are already gone, seven tables are completely full, and waitlists are forming. Thank you all for the amazing support.

There's still room, but not much. In the morning you can still get into Secret Wars II, Mothership or Mörk Råtta. The afternoon is nearly sold out, with seats left for Goatquest. The evening has room for Hero's Gambit, Down Into The Long Stairs (Elfmaids & Octopi) and Cthulhu Now.

And to help with the overwhelming demand we've added two brand-new tables, both in the evening: S1: TOMB OF HORRORS, Gygax's infamous meat grinder run as a high-speed tournament, and VEILED VAULTS OF THE ONYX QUEEN, the classic Dungeon Crawl Classics level-0 funnel where you play hapless peasants who mostly don't come home.
