International Believe Conference

International Believe Conference An annual education capacity building conference for young people!

Education and skills development are key players in the development outcomes as highlighted in the Eighth National Development Plan under Strategic Development Area 2, Development Outcome 1: Improved Education and Skills Development. The development outcome can only be accomplished through combined effort by different stakeholders. Tertiary institutions are considered the main skills development t

raining centres in Zambia. Despite, the rising number of both public and private tertiary institutions, enrolment remains low. According to the National Higher Education Policy of 2019, it is estimated that only 12% of secondary school leavers access tertiary education. Many school leavers intend to enrol for higher education as soon as they graduate secondary school and this calls for preparation as well as orientation. Lack of adequate information, programs and scholarship opportunities being offered by tertiary institutions is one of the key barriers to transitioning to tertiary education. The conference which is powered by Amini Centre for Policy Research with support from different Universities, Colleges and Trades Training Centres among other stakeholders. It bringS together secondary school students, school leavers and young people that intend to enrol for higher education. Being a day’s event, the aim is to make available all necessary information concerning programs and opportunities being offered by these institutions and be able to indirectly contribute towards enhancing human capital development.
