🌟 Special Guest Judge – Marina Spadafora at Move On Moda - Sustainable Fashion Show 🌟

We are honored to announce the extraordinary participation of Marina Spadafora: fashion designer and Country Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italy, as guest judge at the Move On Moda Fashion Show on September 27th, 2025 in Lusaka.

Marina is a global advocate for ethical and sustainable fashion, Professor of Ethical Fashion and a driving force behind the Fashion Revolution movement. Her expertise and vision will bring immense value to our young Zambian designers, who have spent a month in residency with Italian designer Valentina Sardella (Pezzeculiar) creating upcycled capsule collections.

On the runway, five emerging designers will present their work to Marina and a distinguished panel of experts, competing for the top recognition based on creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

We are truly excited to welcome Marina to Zambia – her presence is a testament to the global importance of building a fashion industry rooted in sustainability, culture, and innovation. 🌍✨

On Saturday, September 27th, five aspiring Zambian fashion designers will take the spotlight, presenting their first upcycled capsule collections as part of the Italian Embassy’s Move On – Moda initiative. 👗✨

This runway show marks the culmination of a one-month fashion residency under the mentorship of Italian designer Valentina Sardella (Pezzeculiar). Over weeks of workshops, collaboration, and exploration, the residents embraced sustainable practices while rediscovering a Zambian fashion identity in dialogue with Italy’s world-renowned design culture.

🌍 On the catwalk, innovation will meet tradition, sustainability will meet creativity.

A distinguished panel of fashion experts and sustainability advocates – with the special participation of Marina Spadafora, Professor of Ethical Fashion and Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italy – will evaluate the collections for their creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling to crown an overall winner.

💡 MOVE ON MODA 2025 – Workshop with Valentina Sardella 💡

Today, the fashion residents took part in a thought-provoking workshop with Italian designer Valentina Sardella (Pezzeculiar) on one of the most crucial – yet often underestimated – aspects of fashion design: how to price your garments.

From understanding the true value of materials and craftsmanship, to factoring in time, creativity, and sustainability, participants learned that setting a price is not just about numbers – it’s about telling the story of their work and respecting their own artistry.

👗 The session encouraged the designers to reflect on their identity, their target audience, and the importance of valuing their creations fairly in order to build a sustainable future in fashion.

A big thank you to Valentina for guiding our young talents through this eye-opening conversation – another step towards empowering Zambia’s next generation of designers. 🌍✨

✨ MOVE ON MODA 2025 – Fashion Residency Kick-Off ✨

After weeks of creativity and anticipation, the Zambian Fashion Revolution Contest 2025 has officially come to a close.
We are excited to announce the 5 young Zambian fashion talents selected to take part in the Fashion Residency led by Italian designer Valentina Sardella (Pezzeculiar).

👗 Over the course of one month, the residents will collaborate with Valentina and local professionals to develop an upcycled capsule collection, blending sustainability with Zambia’s cultural heritage.

📅 The residency begins in September and will culminate in a fashion show on September 27th, 2025, at the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre, where the capsule collection and contest-winning garments will be unveiled.

This project bridges Italy and Zambia through sustainability, creativity, and tradition. 🌍💚
