On the 16th June 2018, Vryheid held its very first parkrun event, which means this June we will be celebrating our 8th birthday event 🎂. The football World Cup starts that same week and Comrades Marathon is also being run that weekend so lets make our birthday celebration weekend a sports festival celebration. Come and join us on the 13th June for our parkrun birthday 🎉

Once again Vryheid parkrunners and walkers, WOW just WOW WOW WOW, 16 personal best times today!!!!! Admittedly the weather was perfect for a good run but the rest is totally all on you and your training. Congratultions Andile, Carla, Ntando, Johann, Nkosikhona, Mfihlakalo, David, George, Megan, Sonja, Ronnique, Nico, Ronel, Christa, Isie and Chris.

Huge big shout out to our first finisher today, Andile Ngcobo. This was only Andile's second parkrun and he has already improved his time to set a personal best which is a minute faster than last weekend. Great run Andile 🏆

What a fantastic parkrun event it was today with 6 first timers, 10 personal best times, an overseas visitor and some tough competition amongst runners and walkers alike. Our top two runners, amongst both the men and woman, finished literally seconds apart. But don't think that our walkers aren't competitive, they are!!! Seven out of the 10 personal best times came from our walkers. Well done everyone 👏👏👏
