〽️ Great trails are even better with good company.

Over the years, we’ve watched couples, friends, moms, dads, and kids return again and again — each year bringing a few extras along. We’ve had birthdays, honeymoons and special occasions galore celebrated somewhere between the start line, the mountains and the dinner table 🥂.

Our LITE distances are a great option for the younger legs, while anyone who’d rather skip the running or hiking altogether can come along as a supporter and simply enjoy some downtime at our race base.

Bring the family. Bring your favourite people. We’ll provide the mountains.

The finish line might mark the end of the trail, but it’s definitely not the end of the Giant’s Cup weekend.

Once the running and hiking is done, there’s time to clean up, put those feet up and join us for cheese and w**e before we settle in for the Awards Dinner and Prize Giving at our race base.

Good food, a glass of something nice, plenty of stories from the trail — and no more climbing required. 😉

At the finish line on both days of Giant’s Cup, complimentary leg rubs will be waiting for our runners and hikers.

Find a spot, put your feet up and let someone else do the work for a little while. It’s one of the small touches we include to make your two days in the Southern Berg that much more comfortable — and a little more special.

〽️ Day 2 picks up where Day 1 left off — with plenty of mountain still to come.

Full Distance runners leave Castleburn Resort, following the Mhlambonjwa River before crossing the ridge and dropping to the Mzimkulu River. From there, the longest climb of the day begins, winding all the way up to Crane Tarn.

What goes up gets to come down. A long, fast descent leads to the first welcome refuel at Mzimkulwana Hut (11km), before the second big climb takes runners towards Bathplug Cave.

Once over the top, the trail contours past Tortoise Rocks and drops towards Cobham (20km), where our Lite runners join for the final stretch.

From Cobham, there’s still work to do: a climb up the slopes of Ndlovini, some rolling trail underfoot, and then one of the highlights of the weekend — the beautiful 4km descent through Gxalingenwa Gorge.

At the bottom? Cross the Golf Course to the finish line at Premier Resort Sani Pass. Two days, done.

🥾 Giant’s Cup Lite | 15/12km | 460m vertical gain

Crane Tarn. Bathplug Cave. Tortoise Rocks. Gxalingenwa Gorge. There’s a lot packed into the final day.
