βπ DAY 101 β TODAY'S TEA CONVERSATION
Whatβs Something You Wish Adults Understood About Young People?
Today, I want to change things up a little.
Instead of me doing all the talking, I want to give our young people the microphone. π€β€οΈ
There is so much adults assume about young people.
We say things like:
βWhen I was your ageβ¦β
βYou don't understand yetβ¦β
βYou'll understand when you're olderβ¦β
But what if, just for today, we stopped comparing their world to the one we grew up in and simply asked:
βTell me what I don't understand.β
Maybe there's something about friendships, school, social media, family, pressure, dreams, relationships, or simply growing up that adults don't always see from their side.
Young people, this is your opportunity to tell us.
And adults, let's not immediately correct, judge or give advice.
Let's listen first.
To the young people reading this: you don't have to write what you think adults want to hear. Tell us honestly.
And to every parent, grandparent, teacher, aunt, uncle or adult reading this, please share today's Tea Moment with the young people in your life.
I would love to see our youth start engaging with these Tea Moments, because sometimes the best conversation begins when we stop talking and start listening.
ββ€οΈ Today's question belongs to you:
What's something you wish adults understood about young people?
I'm listening. πβπ€
βπ Until our next cup of tea...
