😄 Terra Nova parkrun Follow-Up 😄

Our volunteer roster is looking a little bit like a braai where everyone brought rolls but nobody brought meat 😂

We still need:
🏃 1 x 1st Timers Welcome
🚩 1 x Marshal
⏱️ 1 x Timer
🚶‍♂️ 2 x Tailwalkers
🎟️ 1 x Finish Token Distributor
📸 1 x Photographer

Saartjie our ostrich and Japie our zebra are getting slightly all jolly and exited next to the fence… mostly because they’ve realised if nobody volunteers, they might be promoted 😅

Japie has already said he refuses to be a Timer because he gets distracted every time someone says:
“I’m only doing an easy run today”…
…and then suddenly sprints the final kilometre like it’s the Olympics 🦓😂

We especially need Tailwalkers. This is honestly one of the best jobs:

🚶🏼‍♀️ relaxed pace
👀 premium gossip opportunities
😂 and absolutely no pressure

The photographer role is also available, so bring your lenses to capture those funny spectacular action moments 📸

If you can help out, please shout. Remember, parkrun only happens because ordinary humans volunteer… and because Saartjie supervises everyone with intense judgement from the fence 🪶👀

🔥🦓 RIGHT… who’s joining us at Terra Nova parkrun this weekend?! 😏👟

Saartjie and her ostrich family are already getting their VIP spots next to the fence, ready for some world-class gossipping 🪶👀☕

Meanwhile Japie with his zebra family will also be there… silently judging everyone who says:
😇 “I’m just taking it easy today…”
…and then suddenly transforms into Usain Bolt for the last kilometre 🦓🦌😂

Of course, we’ll once again be taking on:
⛰️ Sneaky Hill
🤨 Stella’s Corner
😬 And everyone’s favourite game: “Why did I think this was a good idea?”

Weather forecast is looking beautiful for the Highveld:

❄️☀️ Terra Nova parkrun #96 ☀️❄️

This morning served us a proper Highveld special — chilly air, wide open skies and that familiar moment where everyone asks themselves: “Why did I leave my warm bed again?” 😂

Luckily the answer was easy… because Terra Nova parkrun is always worth it 💚💛

While our participants were warming up, the fence crew — Saartjie the ostrich and Japie the zebra — were already living their best lives with coffee in hoof and wing, casually judging us from the sidelines ☕🦓🪶😄
