05/12/2025
The 2025 SunBet Poker Tour has come to an end, wrapping up another thrilling season of world class poker. More than R70 Million was awarded across the tour, marking another milestone year for the Sun International poker calendar.
The Main Event
The R4 million guaranteed Main Event once again exceeded expectations, climbing to R4,334,400 after drawing 344 entries. French player Alexandre Blanc captured the title after defeating South African veteran Edgar Antezana in a gripping heads up finale, securing the coveted glass trophy.
Tour Highlights
Super High Roller:
Henry Mansell delivered the story of the series, returning to poker after decades away following a challenge from his friend Muaaz Gani. He outplayed a stacked field and won an unforgettable heads up battle against pro player Ben to claim the R1.25 million top prize.
Honouring Joe Rahme
This yearโs Main Event carried special meaning as it was named in memory of South African poker pioneer Joe Rahme. Rahme played this event one year ago, his passing three weeks ago was felt deeply across the community, and a tribute video was played daily during the Main Event to honour his passion, influence, and legacy.
