SAVOLO WIPE OUT 30-YEAR OLD RECORD AVERAGE: The scheduling and separation of major indoor and outdoor activities, including FAI/ISC events, are largely driven by formation skydiving training and competition cycles in the Western and Northern Hemispheres (America, Europe). However, the sport is equally active in the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres (Australia, Africa), where teams face the added challenge of adapting to an opposite training and competition calendar. Despite these difficulties—and often significant travel distances—teams from Australia and South Africa have remained consistent participants at world championships and World Cups. South Africa’s long-time national champion team, Voodoo, eventually relocated to Great Britain, and team member Vana Parker has since competed for the British team NFTO at world championships and World Cups. Meanwhile, 4-way legends Gary Smith and Silvanus (Solly) Williams made a similar move from South Africa to Florida even earlier... More at https://www.skyleague.com/news/153683/

🎉 Cape Flats take the crown! 🪂

The final category of the SA National Skydiving Championships 2026 has wrapped up in Robertson, and Cape Flats have claimed the FS 8-Way Intermediate trophy!

It’s a fitting high point to close this championship—held in the Western Cape for the first time since 2011—and to see a local team lift the 8-Way trophy makes it even more special.

A heartfelt thank‑you to our sponsors Pokerbet and Fuselage Wines for their support in making this championship possible.

🥇 Savolo Crowned Champions & Record Breakers! 🪂

Congratulations to Team Savolo, winners of the FS 4-Way Open at the SA National Skydiving Championships 2026 in Robertson!

With a 17.9 average, they’ve set a new South African record, surpassing the legendary 17.7 average set by Equinimity in 1997 at Leopard Rock. That team went on to win bronze at the World Meet in Turkey with a 19.9, and later produced world champions flying for Team USA.

Savolo now carries that legacy forward—raising the bar for South African skydiving and writing their own chapter in history.

A huge thank‑you to our sponsors Pokerbet and Fuselage Wines for helping make this championship possible.
