πΏ Norm-Hudlin Trails parkrun #217 | 30 May 2026 πΏ
The final parkrun of May delivered another wonderful morning on the trails, with just enough lingering wet patches from the recent rains to keep everyone on their toes! Apart from that, things went swimmingly!ππ¦ Despite the slightly soggy conditions in places, 200 parkrunners and walkers joined us for a fantastic morning of community, fresh air and fun.
This week, 7 people completed their very first parkrun, while 24 participants recorded new PBs. Congratulations to each of you! Representatives from 14 different clubs were also out enjoying the Norm-Hudlin hospitality.

π Volunteer Milestones π
π Venesh Athimoolam reached an incredible 200 volunteer credits. As our co-Event Director, Venesh has been a driving force behind Norm-Hudlin, always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem, encourage a volunteer or welcome a newcomer. His contribution to parkrun extends far beyond the numbers, but 200 volunteer credits is certainly worth celebrating!
π IlanΓ© Rall celebrated her 50th volunteer milestone. IlanΓ© brings a smile, warmth and sunshine to the volunteer team each week, and we are so grateful for her enthusiasm and willingness to help wherever needed. Congratulations, IlanΓ©!
π
Special congratulations also go to Lynda Saunders, who completed an extraordinary 550th parkrun. What an incredible achievement and testament to consistency and commitment over many years.
π Visitors Welcome!
We were delighted to welcome visitors from Australia, along with Daniel Swart from Amanzimtoti, and a familiar face in Jabulani Mkhize, who returned to visit us once again. We hope you enjoyed your morning on our slightly wetter-than-usual trails and that you'll visit us again soon!
π Thank You Volunteers
As always, none of this would be possible without our amazing team of 27 volunteers, who gave up their time to make the event happen safely and smoothly. From setup and marshalling to scanning, timing and token sorting, every role matters, and every volunteer is appreciated.
As we head into June, we're grateful for another successful event, a thriving community, and the wonderful people who make Norm-Hudlin Trails parkrun such a special place every Saturday morning.
