Youth Month kicks off well! 🇿🇦✨

We are proud to share that two of our voice learners, Mvelo Makeng and Kayleb Martin performed in the first round of the Talento Singing Competition last Friday evening at WA Joubert Primary School. 🎤🥳

Thereafter, both learners progressed to the semi-final round of the competition, where they’ll perform this Saturday, 06 June between 1-2PM, at the Oakdale Sports Club in Bellville.

Thank you to our voice educator, Mrs Corette van der Merwe, who allowed her learners to leap at this opportunity. 🌱

We wish them well and that they enjoy every moment of this experience! 🎶🎊

Hennie Joubert Piano Competition
March 23, 2026

One of our senior pianists, Lukas de Villiers was one of 12 finalists to participate in the prestigious Hennie Joubert Piano Competition, held at the Stellenbosch Konservatorium’s Endler Hall. 🎹🎶

In its 16th year, the competition was filled with exceptional young pianists, nurtured by talented educators. Lukas is the first FPMC learner to enter and perform in this competition, and performed in the second and third rounds.

We are incredibly proud of Lukas and his dedication to all that he does. Thank you to his teacher, Mr Hadley Duminy for the exposure and experience gained on this platform. 👏🏼

Congratulations to Lukas and his proud parents! We know that a brilliant and bright future is sure. 🌱✨

Lea Prinsloo Solo Recital
March 22, 2026

The second solo recital in our series showcased Lea Prinsloo’s multi-talents, as a violinist, pianist and vocalist, accompanied by violin teacher, Mr Hadley Duminy. 🎶🎊

Lea, a Grade 12 learner this year, beautifully brought Bach, Wieniawski and Seitz, among others, to life. The haunting theme from Schindler's List by John Williams, a known favourite, tickled the spines...

We are grateful to the many influential teachers and proud parents who have shaped this young, talented woman over many years.

And we are exceptionally proud of the confidence, tenacity and tenderness that Lea greets us with this year, and know that a dazzling future is certainly up ahead! 🚀✨

This week, the Cape Winelands Education District celebrate Positive Behaviour Week, themed, ‘Acts of Kindness’, to promote kindness within our schools and communities. 🫴🏼🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

When we’re kind to others we extend that kindness to ourselves – it makes us feel good and encourages positive action and attitudes, which we carry out into the world.

One of our talented violinists, Angeli de Bruyn, volunteers her time in Van Wyksvlei at a project called Kid’s Story via Ikaya la Themba. The wonderful children listen to a Bible story and teaching, and then receive a lovely meal. 📚🍛

We’re very proud to see our youth give of their time and heart to important initiatives – may it inspire many more acts of kindness!

Thank you to the De Bruyn Family for sharing with us. Keep up the excellent work and example you set! 👏🏼💝

What kindness will you extend to someone today?

Water security is at the heart of our continent's development and climate agenda this Africa Day. 💦🩵

Millions still lack clean water and safe sanitation, while water is key to health, dignity and daily life.

Water is important for:
🫑 Food production
📈 Economic growth and jobs
❤️‍🩹 Health and wellbeing
💪🏼 Strong communities

We are challenged by:
🚱 Unequal access
🚰 Poor sanitation
🫗 Water shortages
🌪️ Climate pressures

Africa is focusing on:
💧 Water conservation
🛣️ Better infrastructure
👨🏽‍💻 Innovation and technology
🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Cross-border co-operation

Last year, we started moving into the digital space and soon experienced the benefits that it held for the daily operations of our music centre.

Administratively, it is a dream to have everything in one place - and this is just one of the many benefits! 🧑🏼‍💻💪🏻

This, all thanks to an IT genius, talented musician and creative himself, Carlo Louw, who has been at the core of every step and decision we’ve taken, to ensure that the final product suited our needs and would be a piece of cake to manage. 🍰👌🏼

And although daunting at first, to staff and our parent community, we promised to support one another every step of the way, always ask for help and to never lose the spirit of life-long learning!

And look at us today! 🚀

Now, a bit over six months in, we’re feeling more confident, we’ve enhanced our skill set and share a more streamlined offering to our community of parents and learners.

Thank you to the staff and our community for continuing this journey with us, and to Carlo for helping us build sustainability for a bright future! 😎✨

Strings in Motion:
The Art of Total Body Balance
March 07, 2026

When string teachers come together, it’s a mini-reunion, joyous catch-up and all-round fun!

Presented by string pedagogue, Annamarie Gelderblom, to open, willing and excited-to-learn educators, who practically engaged and soaked up as much as they could. 🧽✨

“The movement must honour the music” and “technique must be preserved while moving” was some of the memorable guidance shared by Annamarie. 🎻🎶

The fantastic educators were open to being fed and willing to share and support one another. There is no doubt that each educator left more inspired than when they first arrived. 🌱🎉

We extend our gratitude to Annamarie and our two learners, Tia-Nay Josephs and Anshinay Engelbreght, for joining in on the fun!
