The inaugural Limpopo Music Dialogue, presented in partnership with the Africa Rising Music Conference and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture Limpopo marked an important milestone in strengthening and celebrating Limpopo’s music industry.

Bringing together artists, industry leaders, government representatives, music entrepreneurs and key industry organisations, the dialogue created a platform for meaningful conversations around artist development, music rights, branding, mental health, career sustainability and the continued growth of the Lekompo movement. The conversation around artist wellness and mental health in collaboration with brought awareness to the unique challenges while offering access to resources and support through local organisations.

The Limpopo Music Dialogue reflects a shared commitment to empowering creatives, strengthening industry networks, celebrating local talent and building a more connected, informed and sustainable future for Limpopo’s creative sector.

This marks the beginning of a shared commitment to investing in Limpopo’s creative future, and we look forward to delivering more impactful initiatives through this partnership that continue to uplift, connect and empower the province’s creative community.

📍 Yesterday, the very first edition of the Limpopo Music Dialogue wrapped in Polokwane, presented by the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in collaboration with Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC).

With over 200 attendees, the event brought together artists, music entrepreneurs, industry leaders and government stakeholders to discuss some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of Limpopo’s music industry.

Throughout the day, we unpacked conversations around 🧠 mental health, 💸 rights and revenue collection, and 🌟 how to build sustainable artist brands and long-term careers in music.

What was clear throughout the programme was the incredible hunger for knowledge, connection and opportunity among the province’s creative community.

This is only the beginning. The Limpopo Music Dialogue marks the start of an important platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and empowering the next generation of artists and music entrepreneurs in the province.

The first panel of the Limpopo Music Dialogue brings an important conversation focusing on Mental Health & Wellness in the Music Industry. Presented by The Sound Mind in collaboration with the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture Limpopo Sport, Arts and Culture Department Limpopo and Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) this session will explore the risks and mental health challenges artists experience.

The panel creates a safe space for artists and creatives forcing on access to mental health services, purpose, and wellbeing in the music space.
