You spend so much time looking around the room.

At the dancer with higher extensions.
The one who picks things up faster.
The one who always seems so confident.

But dance was never meant to be a race.
The goal isn't to become someone else.

It's to become more of yourself.
Keep showing up.
Keep trying.
Keep being brave enough to take up space exactly as you are.

Because the dancers who grow the most aren't always the most talented.
They're the ones who refuse to quit. 🤍

I’ve watched dancers walk off stage
after something really special…
and then slowly let a number undo all of it.

You can actually see the moment it happens.

The shift.
The doubt.
The “maybe it wasn’t that good.”

And it’s heartbreaking...
because that performance didn’t change.
What you did out there was real.

The work, the nerves, the feeling, the presence…
That existed before anyone held up a score.

Placings are part of the environment.
But they were never meant to define the experience.

And they were definitely never meant
to take something away from you. 🤍
