As we reflect on a successful edition of Africa Rail, we’re proud to see the event featured in national headlines!
During her keynote address, South Africa’s Minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy, announced the country’s ratification of the Luxembourg Rail Protocol, opening the door to international financing for rolling stock and supporting greater investment in the sector.
She also highlighted key developments in the national rail reform agenda, including the launch of the Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager, progress on the Private Sector Participation Framework, and the upcoming National Rail Master Plan, aimed at moving 250 million tonnes of freight annually by 2030.
