DIDINTLE KHUNOU TAKES A SEAT AT . ๐Ÿ’—

Award-winning actress and storyteller Didintle Khunou joined us at the 10th Annual EmpowaWomen Leadership Summit, adding the voice of the creative economy to a room of women leading across sectors.

For Didintle, the power was in access: meeting ambitious, aligned women and building relationships that can lead to greater opportunity and economic impact.

โ€œItโ€™s so important to just be in the room, to network and meet with people who are aligned.โ€

She also pointed to the bigger ambition: building generational wealth and contributing to closing South Africaโ€™s wealth gap.

That is what is about. Turning access into relationships, relationships into opportunity, and opportunity into economic agency.

**And the work cannot end when the Summit does.**

Weโ€™re building an always-on ecosystem that advances women through access, opportunity and meaningful connections throughout the year.

Partner with EmpowaWomen, Letโ€™s impact beyond the Summit.๐Ÿ’—

COURAGE, CLOTHED IN COMPASSION. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ‘‘

Amanda Dambuza receives the EmpowaWomen Humanitarian Vanguard Award at the 3rd Annual Bubbles & Nibbles EmpowaWomen Leadership Awardsโ€™26, honouring a woman who has built businesses, opened doors, created tables and made space for others to take their seats.

From starting as a project administration intern to building a successful consulting company, her journey is proof of what opportunity can unlock when it is met with courage, responsibility and purpose.

โ€œTrue leadership is found in the choices we make when no one is there to applaud.โ€

Congratulations, Amanda Dambuza. Thank you for speaking when silence would have been easier, seeing those who were overlooked and leaving people and places better than you found them.

FUNDING. MARKETS. NETWORKS. THIS IS HOW WOMEN-LED BUSINESSES SCALE. ๐Ÿ’—

Hazel Khumalo, Managing Director: Head Pan-Africa Sales, Investor Services, Corporate and Investment Banking at Absa, delivered a practical message on what it truly takes to grow a women-led business.

Funding provides the capital to move forward. Market access connects businesses to new customers, regions and opportunities across the full supply chain. Networks and strategic partnerships bring the knowledge, sponsorship and support needed to strengthen the business, grow the brand and expand its reach.

Her message went beyond helping women start businesses. It was about ensuring that women-led businesses have what they need to grow, compete and scale.

The work continues through .

POWER IS NOT GIVEN. IT IS TAKEN RESPONSIBLY. ๐Ÿ’—

Dr Phathiswa Tshangana Tshangana received the EmpowaWomen Media Excellence Award 2026, recognising her contribution to journalism, media oversight and accountability.

Currently serving as Executive Director of the Press Council of South Africa, she reflected on what the recognition represented beyond her own journey: every woman working in the demanding spaces of media and journalism.

Her message to young women was clear: opportunities will not simply be handed to us. Women must push doors open, claim their space and use their influence responsibly.

โ€œThank you for seeing me.โ€

Congratulations, Dr Phathiswa Magopeni Tshangana. Your work, courage and impact have been seen. ๐Ÿ‘‘

ALLYSHIP IS ACTION. ๐Ÿ’—

Maurice Radebe Maurice Radebe receives the EmpowaWomen Ally Award 2026, recognising more than three decades of championing women, opening doors and advocating for their leadership.

His message to women was unapologetically direct: โ€œTake over the power. Donโ€™t wait for it to be given. Just do it.โ€

He also challenged every leader to find their purpose within the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and dedicate their expertise to leaving the world better than they found it. His purpose is clear: tackling energy poverty and expanding access to power across Africa.

Congratulations, Maurice Radebe, and thank you for proving that meaningful allyship is lived through consistent action. ๐Ÿ‘‘

๐ŸŒฑ Khanyi Mlambo received the EmpowaWomen Sustainability Champion Award in recognition of her courageous leadership in sustainability, climate action and responsible business.

She accepted the honour on behalf of the mothers whose shoulders we stand on, the allies who opened doors and every person protecting the future we have borrowed from generations to come.

Her challenge to us was clear: understand the green economy, ask the uncomfortable questions and recognise the role each of us can play in building a sustainable future.

Congratulations, Khanyi Mlambo. ๐Ÿ’š
