Calling all screenwriters! An exciting opportunity is coming your way. Our partner, Chocolatetribe has been awarded the NFVF Animation Slate 2026/2027 and is on the hunt for experienced writers to join the team! 📃🌟

We’re developing animated projects across three genres:
•Epic African Fantasy
•Political Sci-Fi Thriller
•Comedy

Think you’ve got what it takes to bring these stories to life? Here’s how the phased application process works:

📌Phase 1: Submission Requirements

-Writing sample (max 10 pages) for one of the genres above
-1-page motivational letter
-Portfolio
-CV & Bio

📌Phase 2: Pitch & Presentation

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to pitch and present their ideas directly to a panel of judges at the AVIJOZI Festival

📌Phase 3: The Opportunity

Chosen entries will be invited to Chocolate Tribe for a one-month paid residency. Selected participant(s) who make it through the residency phase may join the Writers Room for the NFVF Animation Slate 2026/2027!

⚖️Rules:

-Applicants must be 18 and older
-No AI allowed: all entries must be 100% original work
-File Naming Convention: CT_WritersCall_Name_Surname
-All applicants must register for and attend the AVIJOZI Festival on Saturday, 31 October 2026 at VRTuosus (5 Summit Road, Hyde Park)

Meet The Interns: Ntsako

Not every success story follows the same path  and that's exactly what makes Ntsako's journey so special.

While many young creatives who start through AVIJOZI go on to join Chocolate Tribe, Ntsako's career took a different route. At an AVIJOZI Annual Event, he introduced himself to an industry professional, shared his aspirations, and took a chance on a conversation that could easily have passed him by.

That moment of courage became the start of his career.

Ntsako's story is a reminder that AVIJOZI's Skills-to-Jobs programme is about something bigger than any one company. It's about opening doors, building confidence, and helping young creatives step into rooms where their future is waiting. Sometimes that future is with one of AVIJOZI's partners  and sometimes it leads somewhere entirely new. Either way, it's still a win.

AVIJOZI is proud to have played a small part in his journey, and can't wait to see where his talent and determination take him next.
