What Does Ultimate Long-Range Shooting Require?

Ultimate long-range shooting is about much more than simply having a powerful rifle. It requires a combination of precision, consistency, knowledge, and the right equipment.

* Precision Equipment – A reliable rifle, quality optics, accurate ammunition, and a solid scope mount are the foundation.

* Ballistic Knowledge – Understanding bullet trajectory, velocity, atmospheric conditions, wind, and elevation is essential.

* Consistency – Every shot starts with the fundamentals: a stable position, proper trigger control, consistent follow-through, and disciplined shooting technique.

* Reading the Environment – Wind can change everything at long range. Learning to read wind, temperature, pressure, and other environmental factors is a key part of the challenge.

* Practice & Patience – Long-range accuracy isn't achieved overnight. It takes time, practice, data collection, and the willingness to learn from every shot.

What an incredible competition it has been! The King of 2 Miles South Africa brought together some of the best long-range shooters for an unforgettable few days of precision, skill, teamwork and, of course, plenty of excitement.

After challenging conditions throughout the competition, we could not have asked for better weather for the finals. Clear skies and fantastic conditions made for an exciting finish to an already outstanding event.

A huge congratulations to all the competitors who took part. Competing at these extreme distances is no easy task, and every shooter should be proud of what they achieved. 🎯
