COMETSA Jane Furse Sekhukhune FC (Pty) Ltd was originally known as, 1.FC Cometsa Goldstones 1997, which was later changed to 1 SC Cometsa Goldstones 1997 (Pty) Ltd. The founding date of the organisation is the 1st August 1997. This day is celebrated annually as the anniversary date.
The President & Chairman, Sam Tsima, was prompted to establish the club by the plight of highly skilled young players. Most of them could not afford education to ensure that they have bright future beyond their playing days. To support this objective Sam Tsima established a non-profit sport development agency, Cometsa Sports Development Agency, to deliver the development aspects of their football careers. The word Goldstones originates from SC Goldstein Frankfurt, which is the name of the football club that Sam Tsima played for during his stay in Frankfurt am Main City in Germany. The word COMETSA is an acronym for Consulting Methods by Sam Tsima. MOTTO: HERITAGE to HERITAGE: We take care of our heritage from generations to generations.
