Celebrating a special chapter in South African racing history. Come see the book for yourself! Copies of the book and artwork from it will be on display at the festival.

“A major part of the South Africa Champion book is that we raced our own Formula 1 series here from about 1960 to 1975,” author and Franschhoek local Michele Lupini explains. “It just happens that the Franschhoek Car Festival will mark 50 years to the day of the final South African Champion Formula 1 race on 4 October 1975."

It's our signature display of 40 curated cars across 40 iconic marques. It's a singular representation of a piece of motoring history across these marques.
