We are at court today standing in pain and solidarity for Mama Sidiki — a gogo, a mother, a human being whose life mattered deeply. 🖤

She is not just a case. She is not a number. She was a human being.

Globally, the World Health Organization estimates that 1 in 6 older persons experiences abuse, and many cases are never reported. Behind every percentage is a life like hers, silenced too soon, and loved deeply by a family left behind.

We are here because silence is not an option anymore. We are also calling for no bail for the accused because communities cannot keep living with fear while justice is delayed.

On Monday we stand not only for one family, but for all our elderly who deserve to live in safety, dignity, and peace.

As Bojane Circuit Women’s Manyano, we are saying NO to the killing and abuse of the elderly in our communities. We will gather at court in support of the family of Mama Sidiki and in protest against violence towards the elderly.

Enough is enough.
Our elders must be protected and respected.
