🌊 YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SWIMMERS 2026 🌊

Each year, we invite a small group of aspiring young swimmers to experience open water swimming on a larger stage - often for the very first time.

✨ This year, we welcomed Coach Janet Dlamini and her team to the . A professional lifeguard with over 23 years experience, Janet is passionate about mentoring young people and creating opportunities through lifesaving, swimming and water safety.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of four anonymous donors and Alu Direct - Sphiwe, Zanokuhle, Lungelo, Ben and Liyema too part, all of whom have aspirations of pursuing careers in lifesaving, professional diving and participating in water sports.

Supported by our safety swimmers, every member of the team successfully completed their 1 mile swim in good time and left the event with big smiles and feeling proud of what they had achieved. 😁

"The best experience anyone can ever ask for. Thank you for including us. It was amazing, we had so much fun. The guys were so excited (a bit tired!) but proud and happy."

The ocean. The challenge. The purpose. 🌊

Here are the official highlights from the incredible Oceans 8 Charity Swim 2026 held at Durban Undersea Club, Durban, South Africa. From breathtaking sunrise scenes over the Indian Ocean to swimmers pushing through 1, 4, 8 and 16 mile challenges, this event was about far more than swimming. It was about community, endurance, and making a real difference.

Founded by charities, for charities, Oceans 8 has become one of South Africa’s most inspiring ocean events, raising millions for organisations making an impact across KwaZulu Natal.

This video captures the atmosphere, emotion, determination, and beauty of a weekend where ordinary people did extraordinary things for charity.
