Introducing François Pieneman - Our Artistic Director.

Over the coming weeks we will share posts about the many team members the festival has on-boarded in order to make it a reality. Starting with our phenomenal artistic director, François. He has worked over the past decades to empower filmmakers and creative entrepreneurs to turn powerful stories into sustainable projects that create real-world impact. With over 20 years of experience producing acclaimed international documentaries, developing financing strategies, and leading impact campaigns, he guides projects from concept to global reach. As founder of Worldvisuals Film in the Netherlands and co-founder of Worldvisuals South Africa, he combines high-level strategy with hands-on ex*****on, using the arts as a catalyst for change. Creator of Cinepreneur and Head Lecturer at the Dutch Filmers Academy, François connects creativity, strategy, and education to inspire the next generation of storytellers.

At Clarens Festival of Lights he has taken on the role of Artistic Director. This means he will be responsible for producing the art programme in collaboration with other team members and artists across the nation. Composing a fascinating and meaningful programme forms the core of events we will be curating.
