We were back at the Southern Suburbs Schools MTB and what a blast it was hosting the skills area again.
This year we added a new feature “the seesaw “ and refined some of the other bits of the course so the riders could really get their eye in and coordinate their balance before heading into their races around the SACS mtb course.

Wait… What… how did we get this many smiles together?

What started as MTB coaching becomes something much bigger when you see a group like this. Different ages, different abilities, different personalities, all learning, riding and pushing each other forward.

The experienced riders learn to lead. The newer riders gain confidence. And somewhere along the way, everyone realises they have something to teach each other.

This is the part of coaching we love most. Not just developing better riders, but building a community where everyone gets better together.

Looking for an exciting way to keep your young rider active these school holidays?

Our Holiday Club combines skills coaching, trail riding, and adventure rides across some of Cape Town’s best MTB destinations. Whether they’re just getting started or already confident on the trails, we’ll help them build skills, confidence, and create unforgettable riding memories.

👧👦 Ages: 5–17 years

📍 Ride Locations:
🌲 Tygerberg Trails
🌿 Tokai Forest, S Suburbs
🍇 Stellenbosch Trails

Our programme includes:
✅ Skills workshops and coaching sessions
✅ Guided adventure rides
✅ Cornering, braking, climbing & descending skills, jumping
✅ Confidence-building trail experiences
✅ Fun group riding with riders of similar ability
✅ Experienced and qualified coaches

⏰ Workshop Sessions: 9–11am or 3–5pm
⏰ Adventure Outrides: 9–11am or 3-5pm

Cornering is where speed lives. ⚡️

If you want to carry more momentum, maintain flow and ride smoother, faster trails, mastering your cornering is one of the biggest skills you can develop.

Our Cornering Workshop is designed for intermediate riders wanting to refine their cornering technique, improve speed, control and consistency on the trails.

We’ll focus on body position, braking control, line choice and generating more grip and momentum through turns. Expect practical coaching, repeatable drills and plenty of trail time at Contermanskloof.
