Please register for FREE online at www.parkrun.co.za/register (Home run: Mitchells Plain). Print your barcode and bring it with you to parkrun. Mitchells Plain parkrun is family and dog friendly! (1 dog per person on a leash at all times please.) parkrun is open to everyone, from beginners to Olympians, from walkers to runners. You set your own pace and are timed for your own benefit. Our friendly playground Dinosaur's run report for Mitchells Plain parkrun Event 372 🦕

This must have been the coldest parkrun morning of 2026, so we would not have blamed people for staying in their warm beds. Saturdays are for parkrun, and the parkrunners and volunteers showed up in their numbers for another wonderful event!

This weekend, parkrun Global collectively held it's MILLIONTH Event and we're so glad to have had you as part of this wonderful milestone 🥳

Event 1, in Bushy Park, London, had only 13 parkrunners and the results were all written on paper and smartphones weren't a thought yet.

We had a great attendance of 160 parkrunners and 15 Volunteers. Keri Ellis was Run Director for the 1st time, we had 3 new volunteers as Marshals and they, together with our regular team of volunteers put on a great and incident-free Event 😊

The cold start did not bother the parkrunners as 1 out of every 5 set a Personal Best! Congratulations to all of you for moving that bar a bit higher 👏🏻

We had one Milestone on the day, who owes us a picture:

Allen Taylor joined the Red Club by completing his 5️⃣0️⃣th parkrun 🔴🎉

22 First Time parkrunners joined us - we hope you had a great time and will be returning again and again for a great start to your Saturday morning!

4 First Time visitors joined us at Westridge Gardens for the first time of which Christopher Mowers travelled the furthest - all the way from Knysna parkrun 🤯

We hope to see even more parkrunners and new volunteers join us at Event 373 on Saturday, 20 June 2026 😀

Two months ago she said she would join us as an "occasional volunteer", but she kept showing up again and again and her passion for volunteering was very evident 😊
