A long overdue, illustrated ode to the Seasons Tour 2026 🍁

This was the most ambitious side-quest in Sub Sahara history but it was worth it for more reasons than we could count. It certainly separated the innies from the outies - but growth, experimentation and risk-taking never comes without breaking a few eggs, bones, hearts and bottom lines!

It took a decade to get Mauricio M Rebolledo Gonzalez to South Africa. Why stop there you ask? Why not throw in London, Nairobi and Kilifi too?

This man has a character much like his music: bold, brave, generous, adventurous, tasteful and delicious. We went on an odyssey and Rebolledo was like fu***ng Indiana Jones to be completely frank. Thank you Mauricio!

There’s a lot of thank you’s so if you get bored - rather scroll through the carousel and find the video of Rebo explaining why the vinyl version of Time by Hippie Dance is so rare, and over €2500 on Discogs.

M Rebolledo took Jozi on a three hour journey through his musical mind and it was an unreal journey through electronic music. Tonight is going to be very special.

The show in London was a truly mind blowing musical experience. M Rebolledo took us on a three hour journey through music that is impossible to describe in words.

Who is M Rebolledo we hear (some of) you ask?

Although many DJs play his music - and almost everyone would have heard his bigger releases - we thought we would give you all a little insight into the exceptional artist we are bringing to the UK and across Africa.

1. He is joining us for a tour across five cities in three countries over two weeks

2. Although you might have never heard of him by name, he has definitely been into your ears! He has a sound that carries so much variety and dance-ability that your favourite DJ has almost definitely played a tune to you

3. Alongside Superpitcher as Hippie Dance they have created some of the most timeless house music ever committed to record. And if you want their 2011 masterpiece ‘Time’ on vinyl (who doesn’t) - a short search through Discogs will show you that 4000 people want it, 2000 people claim to have it and one (1!) person is willing to sell it - for €1600. That’s is some valuable wax!

4. Some of his best sets are recorded in his home studio

5. He is a vinyl maniac and is brining bags full of records to play as he heads straight from Kilifi to Panorama Bar

6. He has music for all occasions - sunset included. His music is like a meander through a subtropical jungle

7. He has been named by Forbes magazine as one of Mexico’s Top 50 creative minds. He is intrinsically involved in designing the experience of being around Mayan Warrior - he is as at home on the Playa as he is in PBar or DC10

8. When he plays Saturday night at Burning Man the bring Mayan Warrior and Robot Heart together - very few people get that privilege

In 2026, Sub Sahara will take one artist across London, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi and Kilifi.

Before we reveal who, we’re giving you the chance to win tickets for you and three friends to any show on the tour.
