This Sunday, at the CTODF, Beverli will be selling gorgeous treasures from Egypt and Turkey, both pre-loved and new: saidi dresses, bedlahs, dance shoes, trimmings...

New goods include a heap of belts (R20-R480), some student gear and a few veils.

Pre-loved items include her own highly energized unique costumes, some of which are designer Egyptian and Turkish labels, including 2-piece skirts and bras, some with head/arm bands (R2800-R5500).

Her stall will be run by the incredibly talented henna artist, Bhanoo, who will also be offering her beautiful body decorative arts to you on the day!

With the emphasis on continuous growth and building a good vocabulary of strong technique, the aim is always to have fun and to constantly fall in love with the dance form!

The 6th CTODF welcomes Marisa Copley

Enthralled by dance since age 2, Marisa dances relentlessly from the heart with diverse choreography and improvisation on the frontier edges of fusion belly dance. She is a passionate collaborator with dancers, musicians and artists of many styles. She is also Africa's first certified practitioner of Datura Style/The 8 Elements with Rachel Brice and was recently awarded UK magazine LUXlife's Creative & Visual Arts Award for "Most Creative Choreographer (South Africa)".

Please come and support your local belly dancers: there will be plenty of new and pre-loved belly dance costumes, props and other items belly-dance related on sale on 26 October 2025, right next to the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. Who knows what treasure you may find...

Belly Dancers, if you have any items you wish to sell, please bring them early on the day, labeled with your name and contact details, as well as the price. Please bring a rail or table for the items and we will have someone sell for you for just 15% commission.

Cape Town Oriental Dance Festival welcomes Al-Masrah Academy and Cape Town Belly Dance Collective back to our stage.

Beverli's international dance career spans as many years out of the country than in and has recently returned from almost 7 years in Egypt. With more than 25 years as a performer, teacher and choreographer, Beverli started Al-Masrah Academy in 2010 in Cape Town, which moved online in 2019 and has raised many soloists, including returning solo performers at this year's CTODF Leanne and Athena. Beverli drives a deep focus to study culture and root foundations of a wide spectrum of Middle Eastern dance art, back home now in Cape Town for teaching pro's Summer School this season in Cape Town. Presenting Egyptian folklore and classical dance at this years festival and also joined on stage by many enthusiastic colleagues in celebrating the collective energy of belly dance art.

We're so excited to be sharing the stage with you once again!
