YOUR GUIDE TO AVOID LONG QUEUES IN THE TRAFFIC (Please read carefully and consult the map below)
The entry and parking logistics for the 2025 Killarney Motor Show, powered by the City of Cape Town in association with Smile 90.4FM on 2 November 2025, were redesigned in 2024 to obviate the long queues that occurred at the previous editions of this, the biggest motor show in the Western Cape. The same plan which worked well in 2024, albeit with tweaks to further improve it, including more parking spaces, will be in place for 2025.
As a reminder, pre-purchased tickets from Webtickets are R130 for adults, R98 for pensioners, R45 for under-16s and free for under-12s. Tickets at the gate (cash or card) are R160 for adults, R60 for under-16s and free for under-12s. And of course, WPMC members get in free by showing their membership book at the ticket sales point.
PARK & RIDE FROM BAYSIDE CENTRE:
To ease access and avoid queues at the gates, you can skip the traffic and travel stress-free using the dedicated MyCiti buses to and from the show. These buses will be travelling approximately every twenty minutes.
Simply park at Bayside Centre or surrounding areas – parking fee at Bayside is R35 for the whole day, walk to the nearby bus station and present your ticket to the Killarney Motor Show, then hop on the free dedicated MyCiTi bus and travel in the dedicated bus lanes straight to Killarney.
The bus will stop directly opposite Gate 2 at Killarney which is a dedicated pedestrian access and egress gate. Entrance to the show is a few hundred metres from the bus stop.
Here’s the best part — you could WIN one of three drift passenger rides, exclusively for spectators who arrive at the show via the Park ‘n Ride MyCiTi bus!
Avoid the traffic when leaving the show by again hopping on the bus at the station opposite gate 2 and travelling to Bayside.
These dedicated buses are in operation from 9am to 6pm.
VIP ACCESS IS VIA GATE 5:
GATE 5 will also be the entrance to the VIP parking behind the Joubert Pits. Once again, VIP’s will not stop at the gate but will proceed directly to the entrance to the VIP parking, where they will be asked to show their VIP accreditation.
Gate 5 is located on the south side of Killarney. Travelling north along Potsdam Road, please turn left at the Date Wall and proceed to gate 5. The parking marshals will direct you along the road to the VIP parking area behind the Joubert Pits Lounge hospitality area.
DROP OFF AREA AND ACCESS VIA GATE 3:
If you are using transport such as Uber or Bolt, please use the pedestrian gate at Gate 3 to access the show. Please see the attached map for assistance.
DISABLED PARKING VIA GATE 4:
Gate 4, on Sati Road to the north of the facility, opposite the container depot, will be the vendors’ entrance from 6:00 am until 9:00 am, thereafter it will be the entrance to the disabled parking area. Enter through gate 4, then turn left onto the service road and park in the parking bays reserved for the handicapped as directed by the parking marshals (Please follow the yellow line on the map below).
ONSITE PARKING
GATE 5:
The primary parking area is accessed via Gate 5 which is open from 9am. Gate 5 is located on the south side of Killarney. Travelling north along Potsdam Road, please turn left at the Date Wall and proceed to Gate 5.
Once inside the facility, park your car as directed by the parking marshals and walk a few metres to the nearest ticket scanning point. There you’ll either join the line to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned or join another line to purchase your ticket – and then walk straight into the show.
Simple as that!
GATE 3:
There is limited parking on the northern, west and east sides of the facility. Vehicles may access via gate 3 situated in Sati Road from 10am.
As noted above, Gate 2 is restricted to pedestrian access
Please note that Gate 1 on Potsdam Road will not be accessible to the public.
Please note that the subway will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the show as there is no parking in the area behind the Clubhouse.
