The Wynberg Improvement District - WID was established in October 2000 with the aim of revitalizing the CBD of Wynberg by creating an urban village environment that is safe and clean and provides visitors and the community with a pleasant shopping and working environment. In partnership with the City the WID primarily offers a “top-up” cleaning and security service to that supplied by the City. T

he original boundary of the Improvement District included properties within the CBD on either side of Main Road from Wetton Road (north) to York/Wilson Road (south) and following it’s success and the need for the service in the Wynberg Village the property owners proposed and the City agreed that the WID boundary be extended to incorporate the Old Wynberg Village from 1 July 2006.
