Cableway Charity Challenge

Cableway Charity Challenge Sporting event to raise money for charity. The Cableway Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising event held on the iconic Table Mountain.

Runners, walkers, joggers, (anyone!) undertake to climb Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible to raise money for nominated, deserving charities helping vulnerable women and children in Cape Town. Corporate and School teams take part on Race Day, doing the Platteklip ascent as many times as possible between sunrise and sunset. Individual participants have nine days (Saturday to the following S

unday during event week), to do as many climbs as they can manage. Some incredible elite runners have broken world records in this event, which we love, but this challenge is for anyone whether you climb Platteklip once or a hundred times. All participants can go DOWN on the cable car for free during the event, which offers a much-needed breather between ascents. Participants raise funds by getting their friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them on the Cableway Charity Challenge website. Challenge yourself and your friends and help us raise R1 million in pledges! The event is solely run by volunteers who fall under the umbrella of the JDI Foundation Trust, an organisation that has been committed to making a difference since 1998. JDI members pool their funds and, more importantly, their time, resources and skills to uplift the local community organisations around them, often supporting projects that cannot access formal funding. Visit www.jdi.org.za for more information.

12 hours. Endless laps. One massive goal.

Today, the running community showed up for Table Mountain and for the charities that need it most. From the first light at the Lower Station to the final summit push, the energy was unmatched.

Huge shoutout to everyone who climbed, donated, and cheered.

But we are not done yet! We have raised R950 000 and have one week to raise the last R50 000. Support our incredible beneficiaries at the link in the bio!
