Unfortunatly when we arrived at the club today, we were confronted with all our sheds broken into.
Our front fence and back fence had big holes cut in them.
However, the croquet gods were shining on us.
The perpetrator had already been apprehended and in custody.
All our stolen equipment ready for us to pick up from the police station.
Wendy, Neal and Anthony caught the crooky wheeling our equipment off in the trolley.

NEW SOCIAL CROQUET CLUB IN MCKAY

Hi Stefan, We are a fairly new club in Mackay based at Slade Point. Currently with approximately 14 members. The lawn was a disused Bowling lawn that The Slade Point Memorial Bowls club no longer used. Two of us approached the club and offered to utilise the lawn and make it a Croquet Lawn. The vast majority of the members agreed.
This was June of 2024. Lots of hard work went into preparing the ground to make it playable. We play Wednesdays and Fridays from 3.30pm onward. We start later in the afternoon to avoid the tropical heat. The club also has a Licenced bar facility for refreshments with all new members' and visitors welcome.
The grounds are part of the bowls and community gardens with markets once a month. The area is flanked by native trees and is abundant with bird life. It's a very quiet and peaceful setting With Whale watching only a stones throw from the lawns. Included, is a few pictures of the grounds and members. Along with a photo of the progression of the lawn from start to finish.
We at the club wish Croquet talk all the best in the future and enjoy the what shot to take segments. Keep up the great work.

I am posting this image as it reminds me of how delighted I was, when after setting up Croquet Talk, I had my first three followers!
I thought it may get to ten or fifteen? 🥳

It is now though 458? ??

It is great that so many have joined Croquet Talk and also have been kind enough to reccommend and contribute to Croquet Talk and I guess that this is just a bit of a reminder that Croquet Talk is a two way street.
I love receiving your input and comments as well as putting out information ect myself! So please continue. 😃
