The women were always there. Now their names are too. 🇧🇷☕

For years, women have been part of the coffee journey - growing, harvesting, managing, planning and protecting the quality behind every crop.

The work was there.

The recognition was not always.

Then, in 2020, Donas do Café was created with a simple idea: put women coffee producers where they belong; at the front of their own stories.

Not as helpers.

Not as a side note.

As producers, leaders and business owners.

The project created more space for women to learn, share knowledge, access technical support and connect with the specialty coffee market.

Different women. Different farms. Different stories.

One shared voice.

Change the plan as many times as you need to, but never the dream. 🇧🇷☕

When Fazenda Santa Cruz was bought in 1992, the farm in Paraguaçu was still built around citrus.

Orange trees were part of the future.

Then 1998 came.

Prices dropped. The old plan no longer felt safe. And the farm had a choice to make.

Hold on to what they knew, or build something new.

They chose coffee.

Slowly, Fazenda Santa Cruz began changing direction, investing in better farming, better processing, technology and care for the land.

What started as a hard decision became a new future.

And today, that story sits behind a coffee now available through Marunic:

Some things are stronger together. 🇧🇷☕

In the early 1970s, Antônio Andrade Pereira Filho and Maria da Conceição Costa Pereira began building a future in coffee in Carmo de Minas, Brazil.

While their coffee trees grew, so did their family.

Their daughters, Maria Valéria and Maria Rogéria, grew up around the farm and began helping their father manage it from a young age.

Years later, after their father passed away, the sisters faced a decision.

Divide the property, or continue what their family had built.

They chose together.

The farm was renamed from Serrado to Irmãs Pereira - “Pereira Sisters” to reflect the spirit of sisterhood that continued to hold the family and farm together.

Today, that story forms the backdrop to a farm known for specialty coffee and continued experimentation in coffee production and processing.

And now, one of those coffees forms part of Marunic’s Brazilian Specialty range:
