According to Orton King, Group Executive Director of Mega Group, organizers of the weekend, it is a privilege to welcome both Elana and Chester, as legends in the South African sport history in the planning, support and presentation of Mega Sport Classic.
Elana who participated in Monday's planning session for Mega Sport Classic Dream for 2020, shared her dream that came true during her silver medal position on the podium at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, as motivation for achieving the rural dream for sport- and youth development in the Cape Agulhas region and the Overberg.
"From Albertinia in the rural countryside of the Western Cape and as director of SA Endurocad, the role of sport in leadership and skills development in the lives of our youth lays close to my heart.
"In conjunction with Education Connection and other stakeholders, we look forward to the difference that talent development, coaching and guidance can make in the Overberg community and sport in the country. It is fantastic that the sport weekend concept originated in your own community and with the team you have on board I believe that we will achieve incredible success with great impact," said Elana.
