The Chippa Sports Center was founded and named after Maxson Matome Moremi known by his football nickname Chippa. He is a former professional soccer player who played for Tembisa Classic FC and established himself as one of the best right back defenders in his days of football. He joined Tembisa Classic FC in 1998 while they were still playing in the National Second Division (NSD). In 1999, he help

ed the team gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL), until the team was relegated back to National Second Division in 2001. Currently Chippa plays for Genius Masters FC (Master’s Local League) in Tembisa.
