12/03/2026
An update on the postponement of the Swasap 2026 event that was scheduled for this Saturday.
Subject to final approval with the authorities the planned rescheduled date is the 28th of March.
We, however, will not be holding the 52km ultramarathon as the dates available to us are very close to the Two Oceans marathon. In its place we are planning to have a 31/32 km.
Athletes already entered will automatically be transferred to the new event. Entries to the 52km you will be moved to the 32km.
We will be allowing changes to entries to another distance and substitutions for entrants that are not able to attend on the new date. We are also consulting as to whether your entry can be moved to next year's event.
Unfortunately at this stage we will not be able to accommodate refunds, as per the initial rules/conditions of our event, as the postponement was outside of our control and we had already incurred most of the costs for the event. Consideration was initially given to moving the event to Sunday but as the majority of our officials and waterpoint hosts are volunteers this was not possible.
Our main sponsor, Swasap, has agreed that everybody who had entered the 21km or 52 km prior to us closing the registrations on Tuesday will be eligible for the race shirts advertised.
As soon as our approvals are in place we will once again open the entry portal on Chiptimer for new entries. Details of changing distance or substitutions will be further communicated.
We again thank you for your understanding of the situation and will appreciate your patience as we finalise the new arrangements.
