Now Thank We All Our God / Kom dank nou almal God

"Now Thank We All Our God" (originally "Nun danket alle Gott") is one of the most famous Christian hymns of thanksgiving. It was written by Martin Rinkart around 1636 during the devastation of the Thirty Years' War. Despite facing famine, plague, and conducting up to 50 funerals a day—including his own wife's — Rinkart wrote this text as a testament to abiding trust in God

Verse 1 (English)
Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices
Who wondrous things has done, in whom His world rejoices
Who from our mothers' arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love and still is ours today.

Verse 2 (Afrikaans)
O God so ryk en goed, gee ons solank ons lewe
Altyd 'n blye hart, as dit U wil is, vrede
Laat U genade ons beveilig teen gevaar
In donker ure ons van struikeling bewaar

Verse 3 (English)
All praise and thanks to God, the Father now be given,
The Son and Spirit blest, who reign in highest heaven
The one eternal God, whom heaven and earth adore
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

ChoirFest Productions is a Cape Town-based non-profit company, who fosters collaboration and creates meaningful performances for singers while offering engaging experiences for audiences. Looking ahead, the organisation aims to expand its collaborative productions and develop a digital platform to record and share performances, creating lasting visibility for local choirs. As a non-profit, it relies on donor support to sustain and grow these initiatives.
