A trucker’s daughter, 27-year-old Vithya Ramraj is now the fastest woman in India. She breaks the 42-year-old record of PT Usha at the Asian Games 2026 by clocking in a whopping 54.75 sec in Women’s 400 Hurdles.

In 2023, she equalled PT Usha’s mark by clocking in exact 55.42 sec at the Hangzhou Asian Games. PT Usha had set her record at the Los Angeles Olympics on Aug 8, 1984.
