Obsessions is a new music venture for the Wakefield music scene. With our first event to be held on Saturday 7th February 2015 at Warehouse 23, line-up and afterparty details are due to be released soon. Some clues for our line up:
Our first support act describe themselves as "Fast paced punk/ blues/ garage rock from two northern fellows." Not to give away too much information, clearly! Huddersfield based and recently formed, this support band will be the first band to ever play our Obsessions brand. Our second support act market themselves as "a grungy, punk-rock four-piece, sprinkled with heavy, energetic melody." Based in Leeds, the band are due to bring out their debut AA-side single in April 2015. To accompany this, they will also be taking to the road, touring the UK and mainland Europe in April. Come down and see what they've got before they hit the road. Our headliner have had a lot of reviews from the music press. HMV say "their songs have a drive and power that most bands would take years to develop." What Culture think that they "have shown here that they’re a band not to be taken lightly. They have all the aspects of a band who could go on to much bigger things and if they keep this impressive level of musicianship up on their full-length, it’ll be hard to argue against them breaking out of the scene any time soon.” Local to Wakefield, with 5000 Facebook followers and a recent homecoming show at Unity Works, our headliner will be back at Warehouse 23 to smash the night. There will also be an afterparty with DJs free for those with gig tickets and open to everyone else for a small charge. Full line-up, ticket details and everything else you need to know will be announced shortly. Like the page to keep in the loop!
