If you are looking for a unique and challenging 5K, this one of a kind road and trail event is for you. Every foot of this 3.1 mile race shows the beauty of this community park as well as the town we love. There are elevation changes, winding trails, stairs, switchbacks and bridges. Hello racers! We have not forgotten about you and we have been working on getting the Darlington RT5K back up and running. We are hoping to have things up for next year, BUT in the meantime, we were able to create another amazing race course in Patterson Township Community Park! 😎

The Patterson Twp 9/11 Day To Remember 5K is going to be a super challenging endurance 5K! This course will run on the road and inside Patterson Twp Community Park! Tomorrow would have been a perfect day to run the Darlington Road & Trail 5K race, but for those who live in the area that still want to run it unassisted, you can! 😊👍 The trail is open 24/7

The start and finish line is on 3rd Street by Greersburg Academy. We marked the road sections with small pink arrows and flagged the off road sections with pink flags, and used stakes and pink flagging tape to assist you on sharp bends and sudden change in elevation. These safety aids will remain up for a few days to give everyone a chance to utilize the route for the workouts this weekend. We love our route and hope you do too. 💚 It has a little bit of something for all kinds of runners, and it has some really beautiful views along the way too!

We will be at the starting line tomorrow from 8am-10ish to assist anyone with questions about our yearly race or the beneficiary, the Wampum Chapter North Country Trail Association. We are sad that we could not hold the physical race due to ever changing mandates and restrictions, but already excited for next year!
We encourage you to post your tracked workouts on our page or message us a screenshot so we can save the photos and share them at a later date.

Registration for the virtual race is available at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/57003. Proceeds from racer registrations will benefit local trail efforts by the Wampum Chapter North Country Trail Association, a 501(c)(3) organization.

As a virtual racer, you will receive a Wampum Chapter drawstring bag, race branded performance t-shirt, leather finisher medallion, bib, decal, and goodies from our in-kind donators, Nuun Hydration and Neoh!

We highly encourage everyone to sign up for the Virtual race as this is the largest fundraiser for the Wampum Chapter, and with local events cancelling, the chapter has been unable to raise crucial funds for trail maintenance supplies and tools. We will also offer a limited amount of race shirts to the general public in hopes of raising lost funds for the non-profit. ❤️

This is the course for those who wish to run it for the virtual 5K. The pictures are to help you navigate visually. The starting line and finish is on 3rd street between the Greersburg Academy and the memorial. Follow the road course until you reach the trail. Once on the trail the blue blazes that you will find on trees and post will guide you along till the course returns to the road. Be mindful of intersections and road crossings and enjoy the course. ✌👟

We may have had to do things differently this year but we are looking towards 2021 for a bigger and better event.

I will be posting optional tracking views this week of the course. This was the first one I liked out of three so far.

Due to Gov. Wolf's restrictions on use of state roads, the possible participation of out-of-state runners, and the rising number of cases of Covid 19, the 2020 Darlington Road + Trail 5K race has moved to VIRTUAL ONLY. 👟

Registration for the virtual race is available at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/57003. Proceeds from racer registrations will benefit local trail efforts by the Wampum Chapter North Country Trail Association, a 501(c)(3) organization.

As a virtual racer, you will receive a Wampum Chapter drawstring bag, race branded performance t-shirt, leather finisher medallion, number, decal, and goodies from our in-kind donators, Nuun Hydration and Neoh!

Packets will be sent out the last week of July. Local registrants will have the option of picking up.
