Alpine Loop Gran Fondo 2025 Update
Friends,
For the past 14 years, the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo has marked the turning of the season - from the heat of summer to the first golden leaves of fall, from purple ridgelines to fields of corn ready for harvest. This time of year has always been filled with the excitement of final details: rallying volunteers, unboxing jerseys and medals, and preparing to welcome riders to share in the adventure.
But 2025 is different. The past seven months have brought some of the most significant personal and professional changes of my adult life. While I’m not ready to close the chapter on the Gran Fondo, I also haven’t had the space or energy to give it the attention and ex*****on it deserves this year. There will be no official Alpine Loop Gran Fondo in 2025.
That said, I don’t want the spirit of the Gran Fondo to pause. Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley remain an incredible destination for autumn adventures. Our marquee routes are always available at www.alpineloopgranfondo.com, and I encourage you to take on an adventure that matches your strengths and your ability to self-support. If you do, I truly hope you’ll reach out - I’d love nothing more than to send you off on a ride, or greet you with a high-five or a hug when you return.
Looking ahead, I’m leaving the door open. The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo’s story isn’t over, and I’m grateful for the space to find the right balance for the future. In the meantime, please stay connected through Jeremiah’s (Jeremiah Bishop and Bishop Training) social channels for other adventures and opportunities to ride together
And finally, as always, let this message serve as an important reminder: prostate cancer early detection saves lives. If you have a prostate and are 35 or older, schedule an annual PSA screening and track your numbers over time. ProstateTracker.org offers a simple, free tool to set up reminders and monitor your results. Please take care of yourself—it matters.
Thank you for your understanding, for your encouragement, and for the community we’ve built together. It’s been nothing short of magical, and I look forward to what comes next.
With gratitude,
Erin Bishop
