The Yorkshire Beast 2023 route preview. Have a read of what lies ahead!
Back for another year, the toughest day on a bike there is! Climb 18,000 ft over 200 miles whilst chased by the Yorkshire Beast at 12.5mph. When he catches you, it’s game over!
The big news for 2023 is that we tackle The Yorkshire Dales half of the route first! An interesting twsit, will it give The Beast an advantage!
Feed 1 will be Kilsney, nothing too dramatic to get there. It gets serious after that! Park Rash then Flow Edge (highest point) come before we descend to The Dales Bike Centre for feed 2. Straight up Grinton Moor Then mostly down hill back to Thirks to complete The Dales loop.
Pace yourself or build a buffer, tactics start to come to play now!
Straight up Boltby Bank from Feed 3 and we are deep into the Moors section. Lumpy all the way to Feed 4 at Kildale. With a lot of miles and vert in the legs, this is where it starts to hurt.
You're in the danger zone now, The Beast is getting hungry and you're getting tired!
Sandhill, Caper and Chimney come in rapid succession, this is where many will fail. It hurts big time to get BEASTED with 150 miles in the tank.
Get over The Chimney whatever way you can and reach the new Feed 5, chances are you've made it, the run into Thirsk with The Beast up your back wheel should be a sweet one!
Everyone who rides the Beast tells us it’s the toughest Sportive there is, they draw a comparison with other ultra-challenge events and without question, the Beast is the toughest!
A day to remember forever! Enter now and set your goal high for 2023, you will not have a bigger challenge.
