If you were at the last Southern Belle, you probably had the pleasure of meeting Phillip and Meghan's son Bennett parked under the tent as Phillip and Meghan cooked. It is with heavy hearts that we pass along that Sweet Bennett passed away last night. We lift up the Ellis family in prayer as they lay their precious angel to rest. Fly high sweet boy!

Ladies, since there is not going to be Southern Belle, as the match director for Battle at the Boondocks, if there is enough interest, I would be willing to set up a squad just for the ladies of the Southern Belle. This would be for you ladies to continue to support and cheer each other on. If there is enough interest, it could end up being two squads.

Well, I can finally let the cat out of the bag. There will not be a 2025 version of the Southern Belle IDPA Championship. It was a tough decision but there are brighter things on the horizon.

On the positive side of things, I have been asked to be the Match Director for Battle at the Boondocks that will be held at Boondocks Boondocks FTA Competition. This is the same great range that the most recent Belle was held in Raymond, MS. This will be a Tier 3 match that will be run in accordance with all IDPA rules.

We will be looking for CSO's, SO's, and staff for the match. If you are interested in helping out as staff, please reach out to us at [email protected]. I know we will be reaching out.

I am not sure who worked harder, the staff with the squads or this knuckle head? I cannot thank Phillip and Meghan Ellis enough for coming up from the bayous of Louisiana and cooking for us. There were some full bellies and a good nap after we ate. Phillip and Meghan are part of my family and I love them both. As we say in Louisiana, "They good people."

Who doesn't like a good revolver stage when it is a pick-up gun, 2in barrel, and only 5-shots? Many different techniques were used but it brough everyone out of their comfort zone. Fun times!

I want to sincerely thank all of the staff that helped put this match on. For some, this was the first IDPA sanctioned match they have worked. I appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to making this sport all that it is. These guys traveled from Louisiana, Alabama, Michigan, and Washington to help make this match what it is. For those that don't know, all these guys received for working the match was lunch, some items off the prize table, and for some, an award. I think most received a neck hug and a big smile from the competitors. Having this staff made it easy for me and Staci to be the match directors. These guys will always have an open invitation to work as staff for any match that I run. THANK YOU GUYS!
