We're calling this one "the pre-annual Celebrate Vic show," because we hope this is a preview of a larger annual event that celebrates the music and life of the late, great Vic Chesnutt.
This year, on Vic's birthday, November 12, we will gather in his hometown of Zebulon, GA to play his music, share stories, and eat birthday cake.
We are hoping to reach Vic's family, friends, and collaborators who would want to endorse/participate in an annual celebration in the future, remembering Vic in a way that is worthy of his legacy. One goal is to have three shows over the Celebrate Vic weekend, in Atlanta, Zebulon, and Athens. If you agree this would be a worthy annual event, please spread the word... follow and share this page and let's do this!
This year, we will gather at 1828 Coffee Co. in the square at Zebulon. This venue is owned by Vic's high school art teacher, Dan Dunnahoo, one of Vic's early creative influences as well as one of Vic's first fans. Dan is also the president of the Pike County Arts Council, the organization that will sponsor and present this event annually.
Please let us know in comments if you plan to attend... we need to know how much cake to bring. 🙂 Coffee and other beverages will be available from the pro staff at 1828 Coffee Co.
If you would like to participate and perform a few of your favorite Vic songs, or would like to share your favorite Vic story, please let us know and we'll add you to the lineup.
We hope to see you Saturday, November 12, from 6-9PM at 1828 Coffee Company Again, please share and let us know if you can attend!
Long live the music of James Victor Chesnutt!
