Who wears the most 4-H green? Every day, it's a green day for Ohio State - Muskingum County Extension Jamie McConnell! "Stock the Trailer" competition isn't over yet as we have more county fairs to go this year, but as Jamie discussed, even though the Jr. Fair Board would like the prize money, the most valuable thing this year was how everyone worked together in a flooded fair week and the generosity of the community. In addition to the food collected at the front gate, during the sales there were 5 steers and 76 hogs donated!!! As our local food pantries and hot meal programs face more budget cuts and see more people in need, this was a blessing :) If you would like to contribute to help the Muskingum County Hunger Network pay the processing fees for the donated livestock, reach out to either Jamie McConnell at (740)454-0144 or Jamie Trout at ECM (740)452-7519.
