It’s time for another race this weekend. I’ll be co-pilot in the 755 Toyota with Derek for 250 miles.
Brad Popejoy will be at this race as well with his sweet LS powered Sonoma.

Unfortunately Duane can’t make it due to knee surgery, #455 out. Work calls for Duke to miss out with the #888 vintage. Such a bummer to not have both these trucks out there. There is always another race on the horizon.

Haven’t posted on FB in a while. The season is here. A lot of work is going on with the trucks and we cannot wait to get back to the dirt. We will be racing the Desert Series with VORRA and possibly a short course race at Glen Helen. The Mint 400 is our goal for Duke’s Vintage. Looking forward to a great season.

Found some VORRA photos while cleaning today. Just thought I would share. I think this is 2005 or 06 at Hawthorn.

Family and Friends Slingin Dirt

Craft MotorSports is a simple family just trying to live out our long time dream of racing offroad. Mostly garage built vehicles and all work is done by us or our friends. Our goal is to get out there, race our own race, and have fun while doing it. We will celebrate extra hard if we get some trophies !!!

It all started when Duane got his Honda 90 ATC when they first came out. Big ballon tires and all. Many, many, years later and countless trips to Ocotillo Wells, Glamis, Pismo, Riverside Race way, Mickey Thomson Stadium races, and more.....Duane’s son Derek started to race his Polaris quad with VORRA from 2004-2008. With age comes a cage. After several years of working on the 855, we were able to get Duane out on the track in 2019. The race bug caught on quickly. Duke purchased and rebuilt his Vintage 888 truck. Mike traded his 75 Bronco he owned for 24 years to get a prerunner buggy. We soon added Duke’s 555 vintage bug in 2019 as well. For 2020 we will be adding Derek’s Sportsman class Toyota. Also in the family is Brad Popejoy. His Sonoma is getting an LS1 and hoping to be ready for the season as well.

We are working hard to keep this going as long as we can. If the day comes that we can’t race, we will be there as fans.

Come by and say hi if you see us at the track or out in the desert.
