The 12th Annual Canal-O-Ween will begin on Oct. 31st through Nov. 6th. Canal-O-Ween is an annual weeklong traditional-style lighting of Jack-O-Lanterns. Located on North Edgewater Ave along the Delaware Canal in the Rivermawr Neighborhood, the Canal-O-Ween Stroll enables residents and visitors to enjoy fall’s beauty on foot within the natural setting of the canal. Canal-O-Ween is about carving pum
pkins, lighting them, enjoying the creativity of 300+ Jack-O-Lanterns and sharing the simple beauty of fall season together with friends and family. Carve-O-Thon: The free and open to the public Carve-O-Thon is scheduled for Sunday October 31 from 12:00am to 3:00pm, of Morgan & Fuld, adjacent to to the canal, known as Rivermawr Green. This is where we “set the stage”, carving 300+ pumpkins as a community with refreshments, entertainment, and a lot of fun! Everyone is welcome, and families are asked to bring at least one pumpkin as a donation. All children must be supervised. This year Jeno Seitz is our special guest professional carver who will carve an original design into a giant pumpkin for our Jack-O-Lantern Stroll! Jack-O-Lantern Stroll for seven nights at dusk. Park in town, and take the opportunity to visit some of Yardley’s restaurants and businesses, then stroll down to the canal north of the Afton bridge. Beginning at dusk (rain or shine), the canal will be lined with 300+ jack-o-lanterns, creating a magical display that will delight all ages. Pumpkins stay lit for approximately 5-6 hours. Canal-O-Ween is made possible by a variety of volunteers and donors dedicated to the annual success of Canal-O-Ween. Volunteers are needed for the committee to help set up and manage the Carve-O-Thon on Oct 31, and the lighting the Jack-O-Lanterns for the week’s Stroll.
